PRIOR TO ADDING: Make sure you have all your content ready in PDF or html format and all your assessment questions ready to create.
STEP BY STEP:
In your course go to Step 3 to create questions.
There are two main types of questions:
- True False,
- Yes or No
- multiple choice
- Text Enter question, where the trainee needs to fill in the blanks.
STEP 1
Enter if the course has an assessment YES/NO. If there is no assessment a simply acknowledgement checklist will be added to the end of the course.
Enter the pass mark for the assessments.
IF Yes – Click on the blue NEW QUESTION button.
STEP 2 – Multiple Choice Questions
Select if the question is CORE? IF Yes, the question will be always asked for this course.
Enter the Question Number
Enter the Question Content
ANSWERS: Enter the answer choices in the field (Type Answer)
If the multiple choice answer you have typed is correct tick the “Correct Answer” Checkbox. CLICK SAVE ANSWER
NOTE: Only one answer can be correct.
Keep adding multiple choice answers (For example you may have 5 multiple choice answer options)
STEP 3 – Short Answer Questions
Select if the question is CORE? IF Yes, the question will be always asked for this course.
Enter the Question Number
Enter the Question Content (Remember to add the direction needed IE Fill in the blank)
Type the Correct Answer in the ANSWER field
Type in the options keywords
Keyword Matches – If you want to allow more than one answer make sure it’s in the keywords and put in 2. If the answer must match exactly put 1.
ASSESSMENT OPTIONS
Once you have entered all your questions you can then set other Assessment options including setting the number of questions to be included in the assessment & the number attempts allowed.
TOTAL QUESTIONS OR ALL QUESTIONS
If you want all questions displayed set to Include all questions
If you want 10 or your 15 questions displayed randomly enter 10 in the Total Questions and pick Random from the Ordering Drop down list – this will randomly pick 10 questions each time.
ATTEMPTS ALLOWED
This is the number of failed attempts the trainee can make on the assessment. You can set this to any number if you want your trainee to just keep trying to get the answers correct.
Default is 3 attempts, just enter the amount you want. and click SAVE AND NEXT
STEP 4 – Review and Go Live
This is the final step in the creation of your course.
From here you can review a summary of your course set up. Save the course as a Draft. Or Go Live with the course making it available for allocation to trainees (both manual and auto).
NOTE: If you have set the course to CORE for specific Sites, Departments or Positions, trainees will be automatically allocated to the course and receive a notification email to completed it.
